ABOUT US
The First Spiritualist Church of Quincy is open to worshippers of all ages and backgrounds. We are an Independent Spiritualist Church serving the Greater Boston-area. We have a long, proud history with ties to the Ladies Aid Society of Boston, which was organized in the late 1800s. We are a religion of personal responsibility and believe that love and life continue after death. We invite you to come and join us in fellowship.
Our Connection with Spirit
At the heart of Spiritualism is the understanding that we are connected to something greater than ourselves. We recognize one Infinite Spirit—the source of life, love, and wisdom that connects us all, while each of us has our own spiritual journey. Through prayer, meditation, intuition, and our experiences in life, we learn to better understand Spirit.
Life is more than our physical existence. Our bodies are part of this earthly experience, while our spirit continues beyond physical life. We believe that consciousness continues after death, and that love and meaningful connections do not end. For many Spiritualists, mediumship can offer a way to experience that connection through messages, memories, or impressions that bring comfort, recognition, and encouragement.
Our journey gives us opportunities to learn, grow, and discover more about ourselves. The choices we make and the experiences we share can help us develop greater understanding and awareness. As we move through life, we are encouraged to trust our inner wisdom, remain open to what life teaches us, and deepen our connection with one another and with Spirit.
Our Community
Our church brings people together through worship, meditation, healing, education, fellowship, and special events. These shared experiences give us opportunities to learn from one another, develop our spiritual understanding, and offer support, kindness, and encouragement along the way. Together, we strive to bring the light of love into our church, our community, and the world around us.
THE PRINCIPLES OF SPIRITUALISM
1. We believe in Infinite Spirit and that God is Infinite Spirit.
2. We believe that the phenomena of nature, both physical and spiritual, are the expression of Infinite Spirit.

3. We affirm that living in harmony with one's understanding of natural law constitutes true religion.

4. We affirm that the existence and personal identity of the individual continues after the change called death.

5. We affirm that communication with the so-called dead is a fact, proven by the phenomena of Spiritualism.

6. We believe that the highest morality is contained in the Golden Rule: "Whatsoever ye would that others should do unto you do ye also unto them."

7. We affirm the moral responsibility of the individual and that we create our own happiness or unhappiness by choosing to live in harmony with nature's physical and spiritual laws.
8. We affirm the doorway to reformation is never closed against any human soul here or hereafter.
9. We affirm that the precepts of prophecy and healing are divine attributes proven through mediumship.
