 The Roles and Contributions of Spiritualist Women

We will discuss not only the famous mediums and healers, but the women who were behind the scenes writing about the mediums and healers. There were also women who provided their husbands with the cash to publish seminal works in Spiritualism.  The early Spiritualist Movement supported women who have told us through their writing, that spirit encouraged them to write their autobiographies, open schools, run for political office before they could vote, provide financial services on Wall Street, travel to other countries sharing healing and mediumship, and teach the application of Natural Law in daily life.

The widespread and diverse contributions these  women provided are often overlooked in our religion.  We should never underestimate the contributions of individuals who followed their own paths especially in suffocating clouds of economic, racist, political, and gender barriers.
